Oh wait, it might not be morning where you are since we’ve had visitors from 27 different countries/territories SO FAR! I think that is pretty cool so I just wanted to give a shout out to everybody outside of the United States. We DO have plans for international shipping when we go live with the site and printing. Send us some love and let us know where you’re at in the world!!

We were going to hold off until next week to announce a challenge for everyone, but I thought there may be some people playing on the site over the weekend who’d like to join. It’s simple to participate and THREE random beta testers will win A FREE YEAR CLUB MEMBERSHIP on ScrapHD! A Club Membership will give you unlimited access to all of the backgrounds, embellishments, and themes from our partners and lots of other benefits for an entire year!!!
*starting from our official launch date to be announced
To be entered into the drawing for a free Club Membership here is what you have to do:
- Create an account on the ScrapHD Beta site (www.scraphd.net) – if you already have an account you’re one step ahead of the game, just use that one!
- Publish at least 3 scrapbook pages by 12pm CST on Friday, Sept. 4th (can all be in the same scrapbook, not limited to three)
- Leave us a comment, question, suggestion, and yes, even criticism
(we’ll take it constructively, of course
) via the Feedback buttons on the Beta site, an email to support@scraphd.com, or a comment on this blog post. Be sure to include your ScrapHD profile name so we know who to give the membership to if you win!
THAT’S IT! I will literally put all entries into a hat and pick 3 winners at lunch time next Friday! You will NOT be judged on your digital scrapbooking capabilities. We want a mixture of experience and newbies because your feedback and questions will probably vary. The drawing will be random to encourage anyone and everyone to join. It is also random so that you are honest with your feedback. We want the good, the bad, and the ugly! What we hear from you guys is what is going to make this site YOURS and FANTASTIC!
Enjoy your weekend and feel free to invite your friends to join the challenge!

Hey Beta Testers!
Today one of our beta testers brought up a good point – he noticed a lot of single page layouts in the Community. He was wondering if this was done by design or if people just didn’t realize they could add more than one page to their scrapbook. I figured it may just be because a lot of people are testing it out and just doing a page here and there, BUT just in case, I thought I’d make it easier for you guys…See my lovely diagram below…

Let me know if you have any questions! Oh, and thanks hucgreen – I hope you finally got your Jimmy Johns today!

I hope everyone had a great weekend and found some time to play on the site! We got some great news over the weekend that we’re excited to share…We have another partner to add to the ScrapHD lineup!!

Kaisercraft is based in Geelong (Victoria) and is Australia’s leading craft, art and scrapbooking products manufacturer and wholesaler supplier to craft retailers around the world.
Having established Kaisercraft in 1987, it wasn’t until 2005 when owner Stephen Kaiser and his family decided develop Kaisercraft’s scrapbooking range into what it is today and concentrate on expanding loyal business with independent retailers. This shift has been extremely successful and Kaisercraft has quickly become a quality craft and scrapbooking brand across the world.
We are really keen to have the Aussies on board
And I know they are excited to bring their designs to all of you via the ScrapHD platform!! Click on their logo to check out their website or find them on twitter http://twitter.com/kaisercraft.
CHEERS!

It’s already Friday!?!? Time is FLYING by! So far our beta testing has been very successful. A lot of people are using the feedback buttons and emailing us directly with questions and comments. I promise we are listening to all of it and responding to everybody as fast as we can.
Here are a few of the things you have asked for since Monday that have already been implemented!
BACKGROUNDS/LAYERING/SEARCHING BY KITS/CROPPING/TEXT BOX/FONT PREVIEW/FACEBOOK
- When creating from a blank page I would like to use a background and then use another coordinating background cut to size for a border and/or matt. We have now added more background papers that can be used just for that purpose! There are still a ton more to come, but we made sure to get some in there so you guys could get the idea. TO DO THIS: When in the ‘Embellishments’ section choose the ‘Papers/Overlays’ category, then choose coordinating papers to be resized and layered!
- Layering page elements/Selecting page elements- You will now see your embellishments highlighted in blue, making it easier to see which element you are actually dealing with and giving you more control with layering. *Please keep us posted with any issues with the ‘To Front’ and ‘To Back’ tools. I think some of the issues should be resolved though.
- Labeling – Would it be possible to even further organize the designers’ separate kits by somehow adding a sort feature by designer name so that if we wish to work from one complete kit, it is in one easy to find place?
SOLUTION: Use the ‘Search’ tool. Example: I found a paper labeled Amy Teets – Grafica – Blue Paper, if I use “Grafica” as my search term for Backgrounds, Embellishments, and Frames, all of the coordinating pieces will pop up. You will notice that everything is labeled uniformly Designer – Kit Name – Description. Kit name is the easiest way to search for matching designs.
- When I crop a photo, then after seeing it on the page decide that I need to crop the photo a bit more, that when I click on crop again, the photo is reset to its original size. FIXED! If you experience this in any way please let us know.
- While attempting to add text I noticed that the box only resizes as a square, so you cannot make the box just the size of the text, this means that if you want your text close (like right above) to an embellishment but then want to click on the embellishment, you need to move the text over, even though it is above it, the bounding box is still large enough it is in the way of the embellishment. FIXED! Please let us know what you think of the change
- If in the future you can display font samples I think that will be a great hit! DONE! We added that this morning!
- I don’t know if the Facebook option is live yet or not but I cannot get it to work for me, a new window opens up and is blank and nothing ever happens. The Facebook Connect options from the Community should be working for you now. Please keep us posted with any issues you may experience.
We are so happy that everyone understands this is beta testing and wants to help! You guys rock!

Filed under: Make it Hybrid!, ScrapHD Partners — Katy @ 4:29 pm
Have you heard who we’ve teamed up with!? We have partnered with many of the top manufacturers in the scrapbook industry!! Most of them have never offered their designs digitally before so this is very exciting news… The coolest part is you’ll find the same brands in your local scrapbook store. We’ll be showing you all how you can create digital layouts on ScrapHD, have them printed in traditional scrapbook sizes (12×12/8×8/5×7) and then head to the scrapbook store to add physical embellishments to add dimension and complete your scrapbook!
Keep an eye on the site because we’ll be adding more and more designs from our partners for you guys to test out during beta!

Who are you excited to see in digital format????
